The City of Granbury has applied for a TCEQ Permit to build a sewer plant at 3121 Old Granbury Road (the main gateway to Granbury) just upstream from the intake for the City’s water treatment facility. The City’s proposed discharge route for the treated sewer water, and accidental raw sewage spills, is Rucker Creek. The creek is a Primary Contact Recreation water body for hundreds of families, including young children. The proposed discharge route poses significant environmental, public health, public welfare, and economic risks. Rucker Creek is a narrow, shallow, winding creek where the wastewater and its contaminants cannot be adequately assimilated, diluted and dispersed.
